A bank verification number is one unique tool that works perfectly for banking operations and transaction activities.
Today, all bank financial operations require the provision of your BVN details to safeguard your account and its transactions.
The BVN is personalized, which is why all bank account holders are expected to have it because it serves as your universal identity in all Nigerian financial institutions.
Checking Your BVN Date of Birth
I have seen and heard of people who had a problem regarding their BVN details, which included the wrong date of birth and the change of names of recently married couples.
This is a huge problem in the banking sector that can cause all your accounts to be blocked. That is why it is necessary to always check your details in your bank verification number while making use of it during any bank transaction.
In this article, I will be showing you how to check the BVN date of birth easily. It’s not proper to forget your date of birth when you want to open a new bank account, and you can’t just remember the date of birth you used when registering for your BVN.
But just in case you forget the date of birth on your BVN, this article will guide you on how to check your BVN date of birth.
How to Check the BVN Date of Birth
To check your BVN date of birth, you need to follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Dial *565*0# on your mobile device using the mobile number you used when registering for your BVN. Copy and paste it.
Remember that this number is a unique identifier, so dial the number before going to the bank. Don’t dial and copy into the bank.
- Step 2: Walk into the nearest branch where you linked your BVN.
- Step 3: Once you get to the bank, go to the customer care service unit, give them your BVN number, and request that you want to check your BVN date of birth.
How can I correct and update my BVN date of birth?
To correct and update your BVN details, which can be your name, phone number, and date of birth, you will need the following documents:
- You need to provide a valid birth certificate.
- Change of name due to marriage.
- You need to bring your marriage certificate as evidence.
- Change of names and phone numbers.
- A national identity card, voter’s card, or international passport will be needed.
How to Check a Forgotten Bank Verification Number
- Simply dial *565*0# on an MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile, or Glo line. It attracts a service fee of N20.
Make sure it’s the same phone number you used when registering for the BVN at the bank. If not, you will not receive any BVN if you use the wrong or unregistered phone number.
Please let us try our possible best to avoid costly mistakes when filling out forms to open a new bank account or forms that require your bank verification number, especially when you already have a BVN.
Ensure that the names and dates of birth correspond to those on your BVN. There’s nothing like similar details or details with a little difference. The details have to be exact, not just similar.
For those who have not yet registered for a BVN, it’s not a long process. Walk into any branch you are banking with and request a BVN.
You will be asked to fill out a form, fill it correctly to avoid changing details. You will be asked for your ID, signature, and some other information. In about 24 hours, your BVN will be sent to the number you provided on the form.
The Central Bank of Nigeria has not provided Nigerians with any portals, links, or codes that can be used to check your BVN date of birth.
For now, there is no other method to check all these details. The only working method is the one I clearly explained, which is for you to visit any of the nearest branches of the bank where you linked your BVN because that is where your BVN details are secured.
I believe I have been able to teach you how to check your BVN date of birth. For those who don’t know how to register for BVN, I have also given you the guidelines to follow.
Do not forget to provide all the requirements needed to change your details when you go to your bank. I know this article has been helpful to you, and you can easily make use of it.
